A Quote from the Dr.

"History teaches us that what seems sensible in one era, becomes barbaric in another. It is so difficult for me to see the practicality of the open method today. This is why I devote 100% of my practice to laparoscopic general surgery. My credo is 'use finesse'."

Back to Our Healthy Routine

The holidays are over, and it's back to your regular routine.  No excuses!  Let's get back to eating healthy and exercising regularly.  Let's all recommit to our healthy routine.

Routine can be helpful in losing our excess weight and, more importantly, in maintaining that loss.  Routine allows us to go about our day without having to constantly think about all the details of our program.

We know that we need to eat a higher protein, low fat breakfast.  Hopefully, you've already figured out what works best for breakfast and are back on plan with it.  When you start your day with a good breakfast, you have set the stage for good eating habits for the entire day.  Not only does it put you in the right frame of mind, but it also balances your blood sugar so you are better able to function throughout the day.

How about your exercise program?  Put it into your daily routine.  Make exercise non-negotiable.  It is simply what you do at a certain time every day.  Again..........no thinking allowed.  We do it like we brush our teeth, as a regular part of our day.

When asked if we would like a food that is not healthy, the answer is "no, thank you."  Again.....non-negotiable.  It's part of our routine  refuse to eat foods that aren't part of our plan.  We don't even think about it.  That way, we can't talk ourselves into having it.

Routine becomes the structure for staying the course.  Don't let "life get in the way."  Let routine rule!!!!!!
