A Quote from the Dr.

"History teaches us that what seems sensible in one era, becomes barbaric in another. It is so difficult for me to see the practicality of the open method today. This is why I devote 100% of my practice to laparoscopic general surgery. My credo is 'use finesse'."

Finding Your CLICK!  And then Using It!

Have you ever noticed that there are times when you are right "on task" and other times when it's so difficult to get yourself to do all the healthy things you know you "should" do?  Have you wondered what creates that CLICK in your brain?

I think it's a really important question to ask yourself.  For some people, the CLICK occurred for them when their doctor told them they either needed to change their ways or they were going to die.  That's a pretty severe threat for some, and yet for other people, even that doesn't create the CLICK!

I chatted with several people this week whose CLICK was that they knew they were going to be role models for their loved ones.  As parents and individuals, many of us will do what is needed to be done for our family even if we won't do it for ourselves.  If that's what it takes to create your CLICK, then use it!

For others, it's when someone tells you they don't think you can do it.  Wanna bet?  I'll show you!  I'll lose weight and get healthy just to prove to you I can do it.

Without the CLICK, it's difficult to stay with a healthy lifestyle.  Many people come to bariatric surgery because they think that once they have the surgery, they won't ever have to worry about it again.  They will just automatically stay thin.  But we know that's not true.  It still requires a change in lifestyle.  You can still gain the weight back if you continue to do the same things the same way.

Take the time to explore yourself.  Find out what really motivates you so much that you get the CLICK in your brain and keep it turned on.  Write it out so if you forget it and start to fall back, you remind yourself why you chose this new healthy lifestyle.

HAVE A GREAT MONTH!  REMEMBER........4TH OF JULY IS A CELEBRATION OF INDEPENDENCE.  CELEBRATE YOUR INDEPENDENCE FROM UNHEALTHY FOODS.  REMEMBER YOUR CLICK!
