The Center for Videoscopic and Laser Surgery was established in 1993 when Dr. McKernan dedicated his practice to minimally invasive surgery. His background included all types of open general surgery including:

                     Cholecystectomy

                     Colon

                     Hernia

                     Spleen

                     Liver

                     Adrenal gland

                     Trauma

This extensive experience, as well as endoscopy work for gastrointestinal diagnostics, laid the foundation for his pioneering efforts in laparoscopic general surgery. CVLS is not a surgical center, and surgery does not take place within the CVLS. CVLS is fully devoted to providing service in minimally invasive laparoscopic general surgery.
